Start your day early with a drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot, a peaceful hill station with amazing views of the Himalayas. Your day begins with a drive to Nagarkot, passing through pine forests and small villages. Once you reach Nagarkot, you’ll head to the viewpoint to watch the sunrise over the snow-covered mountains. Next, you’ll drive to Telkot and start a peaceful hike through the forest to Changu Narayan Temple. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has many beautiful carvings and statues. You’ll also see an old stone inscription from 464 AD that tells a story from Nepal’s history.
After visiting the temple, you’ll drive to Bhaktapur, a city that feels like it’s frozen in time. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square is full of old temples, palaces, and beautiful buildings. Some must-see places include the 55-Window Palace and Nyatapola Temple. Walk through the squares and enjoy the old architecture. Before you leave, try Bhaktapur’s famous "Juju Dhau," a sweet yogurt served in small clay pots.
